A fun quiz to learn the Sanskrit names of the yoga postures

When your yoga teacher asks you to prepare for a setu bandhāsana, or ūrdhva dhanurāsana, do you suddenly have lots of question marks in your mind? Do you spontaneously turn to the rest of the class for clues? If so, rest assured, you are not the only one. And you've come to the right place...

And as long as you are interested in learning more, why not have fun along the way? Eric Lord, a student of the Yoga Center, has designed a wonderful multiple-choice quiz to help you learn the names of āsanas (yoga postures).

When you click on the name you think goes with the āsana displayed in the picture, the correct answer will be displayed, along with additional information that will help you remember it: the word-for-word translation of the Sankrit will help you recognize the posture in the future.

A button at the bottom of the screen will take you to the NEXT image. You can also see all the āsana photos at once by clicking on “see all āsanas”.

You can play as many times as you want. There will be no data collection, this game is there for you, so go ahead, have fun!
