From Earth
to Sky
Iyengar Yoga Retreat
with Eliot
At Centre Tara de Bonsecours,
in Eastern Townships
August 13 to 16, 2025
BKS Iyengar teaches “Humankind stands with its feet planted squarely on the earth and its head in the sky, as in Tadāsana (mountain posture). What does this mean? We are of physical nature, of elements and this body that has beginning and end, and is continuously changing. But where is this individual physical nature evolving out of and into? This we are too, which Guru-ji Iyengar calls the immeasurable sky, cit-akaśa, the vision of space itself. It is the Universal Reality in ourselves that aligns us with a Universal Reality that is everywhere, not changeable by time nor limited by space.
From Earth to Sky is meant to give us time and space away from daily activitiesto bring more focus and devotion to practice and uncover the cit-akaśa, sky of consciousness which, for most of us, remains hidden in plain sight.
By way of study we will consider and gain insight into what is real, what is true, what is important and what is standing in the way of that knowledge.
Through potent and effective yoga practices we transform, refine and grow to experience the blissful freedom of being of both Earth and Sky
